Do you ever wonder if you have ever seen your future husband or wife somewhere and just didn’t even really notice them? I mean I could have ran into the man I will one day be saying “I Do” to in the middle of the grocery store and never even thought about it. Well as I am getting older and I begin to see my friends getting into serious relationships and getting engaged I realize that we are now at the age that most people begin to meet their future spouse (crazy right?!). But I am anxious for the day that I will get to wear the white gown and walk down the aisle with my dad and walk towards the man I have prayed for. I am just like every other girl, and I have my dream wedding planned out on Pinterest (right down to the overly fancy cake). But before that dream wedding I must meet my future husband. And so I began praying for this man a few years back, and I still pray every night for this loving man.

Dear Future Husband,

I have been praying for you for quite a while. I began praying for you about 2-3 years ago. I am currently 18 years old, and I do not intend on being married any time soon. But it would be nice to meet, but I am not rushing it. It will all come with God’s timing. But I do find it comforting to know that I am already praying for you, and hopefully you are out in this crazy world somewhere also praying for me.

I pray every night before I go to bed; I pray for the sick and suffering and all the people who have lost loved ones, I pray for my family and friends, I pray for God’s guidance through the challenges that I face, I pray for strength and knowledge to succeed in my future career in the medical field; but as I begin to end my prayer, I pray for you.

I pray that you are out there living your dreams. I pray you are turning to God through out your troubling moments. I pray you are making beautiful memories that I will one day get to hear about. I pray that you are praying for me and our future together. I pray you are preparing yourself for my intense level of sass. I pray that you are a lover of Italian food and hibachi as much as I am. I pray you understand my obsession with coffee, especially pumpkin spice lattes. I pray you love playing board games as much as I do. I pray you love cooking and baking and understand how much fun I have while I do these things. I pray that you find beauty in the simplest of things. I pray that you love animals (because I will be bringing home new pets frequently). I pray that you love kids, and want to have some of our own one day. I pray that you understand how much I want to travel. I pray that you love my family and my home town. I pray that you see my passion when I talk about the mission trips I hope to go on one day. I pray that you truly love me, and that our love will be pure.

But above all of these prayers, I pray that you love God with every bone in your body. I pray that you love him more than you will ever love me. I pray that we let Christ be the center of our relationship, and that we will grow closer to him and help guide each other even closer towards him.

You truly will be the man of my dreams, and I already love you. The day we meet I pray that we just know it’s meant to be. As a hopeless romantic I believe in love at first sight, and I can’t wait until we have that magical moment. I know one day all of the heartbreaks I have experienced in my lifetime will just make sense, because they have helped lead me to you.

Where ever you are, and whatever pain you are going through just know that your future wife is here to pray for you, even if we haven’t met yet. May we find each other on some sidewalk, walking to class, or even meet in the grocery store; I know it will be perfect no matter where it is.

Just look for the girl with hope in her heart and stars in her eyes, I will be there waiting and praying for you.
